Café Pyramide
A contemporary bistro beneath the Louvre Pyramid

Bistrot of our terroirs
Café Pyramide opens its doors beneath Ieoh Ming Pei’s iconic glass Pyramid, shaped by the enthusiasm and generosity of Michelin-starred Chef Vivien Durand. In collaboration with Alain Ducasse, he brings the spirit of the Parisian bistro back to life with a fresh, modern twist on classic French dishes — creative, cheerful, and environmentally conscious.
“Mindful cuisine"
With infectious optimism and a deep connection to his Basque roots, Vivien Durand offers an intuitive, heartfelt cuisine inspired by the Louvre’s collections and guided by his own convictions. He selects ethical, sustainable ingredients and prepares them with creativity and care. His commitment to the environment is reflected in a reduced emphasis on meat, favoring quality over quantity. While some dishes evoke the Basque Country, highquality products are sourced as locally as possible, especially in the Île-de-France region.
- Unilateral fish of the moment, beurre blanc with dill, chervil, white asparagus
- Cauliflower baked in papillote, hazelnut crust and Espelette chili pepper
Understated and timeless
The bistro’s contemporary ambiance was designed by architects Marguerite Cordelle and Maël Esnoux from Studiokokumi. Cubic volumes in Poiseul stone, linen curtains from the Perche region, and natural wood elements echo the authenticity and ethical approach behind the cuisine.
