Opening of the Café de la Gare at the Musée d’Orsay
OpeningJune 2023
A brand-new dining option has opened at the Musée d’Orsay: the Café de la Gare, located in the heart of the museum beneath the grand nave, with seating for around fifty guests.
A Café at the Heart of the Museum
This unique space blends seamlessly and discreetly into the design ethos of the interiors crafted by architect Gae Aulenti. It offers a moment of relaxation and enjoyment amidst the museum’s collection and is just steps away from the entrances to temporary exhibitions, such as Manet/Degas (on display until 23 July) and the highly anticipated Van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise, opening this October.
A Varied Selection
Breakfast is available for €7, and lunch for €13, including a sandwich or wrap, dessert, and drink.
There is a wide variety of options to suit all tastes and preferences, ranging from a vegan-friendly wrap to a more indulgent pain viennois with sardine rillettes and herbs, or the classic and quintessentially French baguette with mustard seed butter, white ham, and Emmental cheese.
The salad selection includes the ever-popular Caesar salad, a delightful green lentil salad with poached egg, and a vegetarian option featuring quinoa, cucumber, tomato, radishes, salted pistachios, and olive oil.
For dessert lovers, there’s an irresistible selection, such as chocolate mousse with crumbled Breton shortbread or pineapple in mint syrup.
