Exceptional collaborations: 5 Chefs, 5 talents to celebrate Mexican cuisine
A Nod to the Exhibition at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac
Shining a spotlight on Mexican culture: The Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac presents the exhibition Mexica: Offerings and Gods at the Templo Mayor, running until 8th September 2024. A unique opportunity to delve into the fascinating history of Mesoamerican archaeology. As a partner of the exhibition, the ¡Qué Gusto! festival will be present with various culinary and cultural activities over select weekends throughout the exhibition to promote Mexican gastronomy.
As part of this exceptional exhibition, Café Jacques, nestled in the heart of the museum, welcomes the ¡Qué Gusto! festival for a culinary journey to Mexico.
Chef Florian Dannel, in charge of the Café Jacques kitchen, will host a series of culinary events starting from April until 8th September.
A Menu Inspired by Mexico
Each month, the menu will feature a new culinary creation inspired by Mexican flavours, crafted by one of the Mexican chefs from ¡Qué Gusto! or Chef Florian Dannel.
The journey begins in April with a Tostada de Pollo created by the talented Lydia González Aguilar, Mexican chef at the Parisian restaurant Itacate. In June, Chef Othoniel Alvarez Castañeda from the Hotel Dame des Arts restaurant will take over, and in August, Chef Mercedes Ahumada from the Chicahualco restaurant will showcase her culinary creation. A rich palette of flavours and colours to explore!
To crown the meal, the dessert Chocolatl by pastry chef Luis Robledo Richards, named Best Pastry Chef in Latin America by Latin America’s 50 Best in 2019, will be available throughout the exhibition.
