A memorable evening inspired by the exhibition “Caillebotte, Painting Men”

A few days ago, we had the immense pleasure of hosting the patrons of AFMO (American Friends of the Musées d’Orsay and de l’Orangerie) for a Gala Dinner at the Restaurant of the Musée d’Orsay, inspired by the exhibition “Caillebotte, Painting Men”, currently on display at the museum. In this elegant setting, the teams from Musiam Paris and DUCASSE Réception orchestrated an unforgettable evening for 215 guests, where every detail paid tribute to the painter’s aesthetic.

Cuisine in the Colors of Caillebotte

Delicate floral arrangements and monochrome dishes provided the only splashes of colour against the stunning white or mirrored table settings.

The menu, created especially for the occasion, drew its inspiration from the painter’s palette: barely cooked langoustine with coral cream and gold caviar evoked deep black tones; crispy rice cookpot with smoked haddock, seasonal vegetables, and curry showcased vibrant yellows; and finally, a dessert of confit Solliès fig, hibiscus, and fig leaf brought the evening to a close with rich carmine red.

Bold staging, inventive cuisine, and an exceptional setting made this event a truly unforgettable experience.
